Good Morning Dear Ones:
I have a few moments before my day gets going and the world of therapies fills my time. Last Monday Eric and I started weight watchers. I have to say I am totally excited about it. I don't have a ton of weight to lose but there are some extra pounds that I have accumulated over the years and the older I get I can not seem to get rid of them no matter how much I exercise.
Here are some things I like about it. I feel like for the first time I really can control my food intake. There is an app for your smart phone that makes it so simple to keep track even on the go. What I like most is I feel like it is balanced. There really are no restrictions. You are even allowed treats as long as you stay within your point range. Eric was successful in the past losing a good deal of weight on a low carb diet but has since then regained what he lost. I just don't think it is a lifestyle diet, at least not for us.
We are doing it all online because lets face it we don't need another meeting in our schedule. That flexibility works well for us. My most favorite part about it all is the variety available. There are tons of yummy recipes online and they have even passed the test in the kid department. So it really works well for a family because even the kids like the meals. They just don't have to watch serving sizes for points. I just have to multiply the recipes to feed our herd. Plus you can log your activity each week and exchange activity points for more food. I like that a lot! Plus there is a variety of foods like fruits and veggies that are zero points so you can eat as much as you want.
After our first week I have seen some progress too which is totally motivating. It may be slow but I think it will finally get both of us where we want to be and be a lifestyle to keep us there.
On a side note. Our case for Big Sister has an annual review tomorrow. It would be the best Valentines gift ever if a decision could be made and we could also see some progress there. Plus we are still waiting on the news about Mercy's bed if you could keep these things in prayer for us.
Have a wonderful day Dear Ones, "May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
