Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself

Dear Ones:

I am so thankful when Jesus speaks to my heart. Anyone who knows and walks with the Father realizes there are several ways he does this.  This communication can come across through personal bible study, a good sermon, an inner knowing, a good devotional, a close friend speaking encouragement, etc. etc.

This morning the Father spoke to me through a devotional I got in my e mail. Have you ever read something and It is like whoever wrote that reached down into your heart and put whatever they pulled out onto the page?

Todays devotional was by Melanie Chitwood entitled "Be Mindful."
It just so goes along with what I have felt the Lord nudging me to work on lately. My mind. It is a constant battle lately. Somedays I feel victory and others I fall flat on my face. Somedays I am just so weary and I so desperately need to hear my Father speak. To spur me on. Thank you Father I am so happy you did just that this morning.

Today's verse:

"Set your mind on the things above , not on the things that are on the earth." Colossians 3:2

Here are some quotes from the devotional that really ministered to me:

"When I take my eyes off my circumstances or stop focusing on what others say, my perspective changes. We're walking in faith as we set our eyes on God. We're trusting Him each step of the way and we're trusting Him with the outcome, whatever that may be."

I have found this to be true time and time again and I feel foolish that it is still such a hard mind battle. Praise God for his faithfulness amen? He has begun a good work in me and He will be faithful to complete it. Please pray for us because we truly want to be content with God's plan and God's outcome concerning our adoption, but I would be lying to say that comes easy.

More quotes from the devotional:

"It's so easy to let our circumstances determine our thoughts and feelings, isn't it? Do we set our minds on our circumstances or on God? It's also easy to listen to the lies of our culture, lies that say faith is really impractical. Don't be deceived by this wrong thinking. In the midst of a whole lot of uncertainty, set your mind on the one certainty in life: God loves you and He is in control."

I need this to get deep down in my knower. To move from my head to my heart, that can be such a long distance. I don't know why knowing this can be such a hard struggle for me, but once again I praise the Lord for his faithfulness to never leave or forsake me.

Here is Melanie's prayer and mine today:

Dear Lord, thank you that in the midst of uncertain times, fearful times, and heart aching times, You are the one I can be certain of. Thank you for being a sure thing, for now and always. Let my mind be filled with you, and then I will know your peace which is supernatural. Lord, I pray that you will strengthen me in this trial, and during it I ask that you will cause my heart and my mind to continue to turn to you. Lord, don't let this hard time cause me to be bitter or despairing. Instead, let me come out of it on the other side with a stronger trust in you. In Jesus name, amen.

I could not have said it better myself. I so want that in my life. I think what drives me crazy with the adoption or life in general is the uncertainty. I like a plan and I like to know exactly what to do. Lord Jesus set my mind on the certainty of you!

A Reminder....

Dear Ones:

I just had to share a blessing. A reminder along the path; of this verse:

"My God will use His wonderful riches in Christ Jesus to give you everything you need."
Phil 4:19

We received an unexpected blessing this morning. Someone gave us a love gift and it will meet a financial need and it meets an emotional need. To be reminded that we will have what we need and that we are supported is such a blessing. Thank you gift giver and thank you Father we love you!

Enjoying Practice

Dear Ones:

Yesterday was such a great day. It was a snow day for one, which I LOVE. Having my boys home is the BEST! Then we had a delightful visitor yesterday. Some dear friends of ours let me watch their precious sweetie. We all enjoyed practicing what it will be like to have a precious girl in our hearts and home.

We are hooked :)
