We needed this...

Dear Ones:

Our family has been blessed. I am overwhelmed with emotion. How we have been in need of some encouragement and hope. Something to say you are to stay on this path. I have not forgotten about you. I am your provider. I will help you.
Last night we had a visit from some very precious friends of ours. They have been a significant source of encouragement through out this adoption process. I will keep them anonymous to protect their privacy. How they blessed us though is too BIG not to share. I have shared the tremendous struggle we have had on this journey and it would be a disservice to not share the tremendous blessing.
The picture above is of a card given to us last night filled with beautiful words of encouragement, love, and support for our family. I will treasure this card always. Inside of the card was a check. A sacrificial gift of love to help bring Mercy home. The gift was money I know my friends could use easily for their own needs and I am amazed at their generosity. Simply amazed. I have renewed hope to cling to what we heard from the Lord and to move forward in faith.

Also, the past two weeks my Father-in-Law has been in town, to help us paint our house in the hopes that someone will want to buy it. This was a HUGE job and he gave sacrificially of his time to come and do this for us, just for enough money to cover his expenses. This was another BIG sacrificial gift given to us this week.

These actions make me think of the following verses:

"This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave His life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters. Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God's love is not living in that person. My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but by our actions and true caring."   1 John 3:16-18

Thank-you Jesus for these people. Thank- you for the blessings they have given us. Multiply the blessings back on to them many times over Father.

Thank you for continuing to pray for our hearts and needs in this process. Every prayer is a BIG contribution.

With a blessed and thankful heart,

Go Skins!!!!!

Dear Ones:

I should have blogged about this last month when it happened but it got away from me. Better late than never. Well, our Elijah is a BIG Washington Redskins fan. I credit this to my brother from another mother with the same perfect father, Skinner.
He has converted all my guys as you can see.
Here is how it all went down: Elijah was watching a Redskins game and saw a watch and win contest. He immediately went online to enter for a chance to win. Eric and I both told him no one ever wins those contests. Well, a little while later Elijah received an official e mail from the Redskins stating that he had won!!!!! He received 2 tickets, hospitality passes and a parking pass to a game. Needless to say Eric and I were way wrong and Elijah was WAY EXCITED!
Skinner also had tickets to that game and they were able to stay together. Skinner also had an extra ticket that he lovingly shared with my Noah. We have such AMAZING friends!
All my guys had a blast making wonderful memories! Enjoy the pics that captured some of them from that day! Oh and the Redskins won woo hoo!

Not Bad and Who Knew?/TAG

Dear Ones:

Today was day 2 at the Salon.  I had someone there to train me so it went way better than day 1. Who knew though all that was involved with reception. Not just schedules & transactions but even sweeping, bathroom cleaning, and laundry (something of which I am an expert.)  Keep praying for me to catch on and do a good job.

Then to finish I have had a couple of tags from my friend Stephanie and a new reader
The tags were a little different and I will combine the two and list 6 random things about myself. I hope to not disappoint the taggers:

  1. I love to get my hair done, I feel frumpy if I have plain hair.
  2. My husband and I share a low brow sense of humor...not raunchy mind you but still not shared by all. I love to laugh.
  3. I want to be a good photographer, and very much so admire great shots taken by others. My new schedule has left me little time to practice.
  4. My favorite family tradition is our "laugh box" I write down all the "funny things" my kids say through out the year and on New Years Day  we read through all the entries and laugh until we cry sometimes.
  5. Lately I do not feel any closer to my daughter but I do feel closer to my heavenly Father
  6. I think about orphans every single day of my life

Well I can not think of who I would tag now besides my buddy Chris
